Mandalay Hill

Mandalay Hill is located next to the Mandalay Palace Moat on the North side. It is 240 metre (790 ft) hill and good place panoramic view of Mandalay city. A lot of tourists like to go there for sunset view.

I think these two lions are second largest. The first Largest Lions can be found at Shwe Dagon Pagoda, Yangon. There are two ways to go the top by car/bike or by foot. It will take about 20 to 30 minute if you go by foot depend on how many time you stop.

After a long walk, I reached the top of the hill. The sunset on that day was not spectacular. This is the best I get. This trip reminded me old days when I came here multiple times to practice English with tourists.

It is a very good place to spend time in evening with amazing sunset view and evening breeze.
Two Snake statues. People believe that touching these snakes can bring good luck.
Road to Madaya and Mogok.

Lift for those who are not fit enough to go to the summit on foot. It operates between car park to summit.

As always, it was quite fast to reach to the bottom of the hill compare to the  time spend on climbing.

There is no night life around this area unless during festival time such as Kyaut Taw Gyi and  lighting festival (Tadin Gyaut).
