Pyin Oo Lwin, Dat Taw Gyaik (or) Anisakan Waterfall(ဓါတ္ေတာ္ခ်ိဳင့္ ေရတံခြန္) #2

I think this waterfall is the most beautiful in Pyin Oo Lwin and well worth your effort of a long and exhausting journey. I slipped 2 times while walking near the fall. Luckily my camera was safe. I am not happy with the photos I got from that day. It is not impressive compare to others' photos available in "Flickr". It is also depend on what time of the year you go. Usually, around Nov to Feb will be the best time for photo taking when the water amount is not that strong and it doesn't splash too much.

Even thought I didn't go near the water, I was wet including my camera. Last time I used to go quite close to the fall but this time my camera didn't allow me.

Pyin Oo Lwin, Dat Taw Gyaik or Anisakan Waterfall(ဓါတ္ေတာ္ခ်ိဳင့္ ေရတံခြန္) #1

Pyin Oo Lwin is popular as a hill resort which is around 40 miles away from Mandalay city and it take about 2 hours driving to get there. Very scenic hill town with waterfalls, caves, botanic garden, strawberry farms etc. It is a popular holiday destination during summer. People from Mandalay like to go there during summer to enjoy the pleasant weather.

I went there for a day trip and I had to leave from Mandalay quite early about 6 am. I recommend to hire driver who is skilful in driving mountain road because there are a lot of turns and it can be dangerous for immature driver.

Mandalay Hill

Mandalay Hill is located next to the Mandalay Palace Moat on the North side. It is 240 metre (790 ft) hill and good place panoramic view of Mandalay city. A lot of tourists like to go there for sunset view.

I think these two lions are second largest. The first Largest Lions can be found at Shwe Dagon Pagoda, Yangon. There are two ways to go the top by car/bike or by foot. It will take about 20 to 30 minute if you go by foot depend on how many time you stop.

Mandalay University

Mandalay University old campus is located on 73 street.  This university was moved to Yandanar Bon University and now it only offers a few courses such as Distance education and Foreign Languages School. However, this area is still remained as a student gathering place where a lot of private hostels for students from other towns.

My house is quite near to this Uni and I have passed the place so many times.
