Malacca Trip #2

I think he is St. Paul because it is the only one statue in St. Paul's hill. Inside the white old building, you can find stone inscriptions. Good place for those who like history.

This guy is drawing a landscape of the while building.

Malacca Trip #1

I had made Malacca trip back in July 2011. I bought Free & easy package from deals.com.sg and the ticket only cost $75 per person. The ticket includes two way Bus transfer to Singapore to Malacca, 1 night accommodation at Hotel Equatorial with breakfast. The hotel is rated 5 stars and I have to say that the service is good, spacious room and conveniently located (most of the attractions are nearby).
The bridge is connecting Malaysia and Singapore.

The bus left from Singapore at 8am. The traveling time from Sg-Malacca is about 3 to 4 hours depending on immigration traffic condition.

Most of time I go Malaysia, the bus stops here for toilet/meal break but it doesn't have the food that I would like to eat. So, for me it is just a toilet break.

Atumashi Kyaung, Mandalay

Atumashi Kyaung, the meaning of Atumashi is "unique". The temple is located between Kuthodaw and Shwe Nandaw Temple which means once you are there, you can visit three temples. I still remember the original ruin temple back in 1990 and this is the rebuilt temple.

Shwenandaw Kyaung Temple, Mandalay

Shwenandaw Kyaung temple is located on the other side of Kuthodaw Pagado. The meaning of this temple is Shwe=Golden , Nandaw= Palace, Kyaung= monastery. It is a very old temple full with ancient Burmese wooden crafts all over the palace. I think the whole palace was built by teak.

During my visit, there were a few guided tour groups there. Entrance fee is imposed for both local and tourists of course tourists have to pay more.

Kuthodaw Pagoda, Mandalay

Mandalay city has a lot of temples and pagodas. This pagoda, Kuthodaw,  is one of the most famous in Mandalay. It is also known as "World's Largest book" because it has a lot of stone inscriptions which are placed inside Stupas painted in white color.

Mandalay Random Street Snapshots

All these photos were taken from my 2010 trip. I like to take street snapshot while riding motorcycle or car in Mandalay. In fact, I don't like to walk together with a camera like a tourist in my home town.

U Bein Bridge, Mandalay #2

I was sitting in the fritter stall for about 1 hour and busy with eating, reviewing photos and enjoying the scenery. The sun was setting, so I had to walk back to the other side of the bridge for the sunset shoot as well as return home.
