Laykyun Setkyar Standing Buddha, Monywa #1

The name of this standing Buddha is called Laykyun Setkyar. It located near Monywa town which is about  3 hours drive from Mandalay. As it is very huge and tall, it can be seen from very far distance. At that time I went there, the lift inside the Buddha body was still under construction. So I had to go to each floor by using staircase. I only went up about 6 to 7 floors. Basically, all levels are populated with different kinds of Buddha statues and paintings

This statue is 130 meters tall. Some say it is the the world tallest and other say it ranks second after the statue from China. But what I can tell you is that it is unbelievably huge. I cannot imagine how much efforts and hard work they put to build this. It is located on the hill so the wind is extremely strong. The statue must be very strong and solid as it is standing against the strong wind.

There is a huge reclining Buddha right in front of Standing one. This reclining Buddha also has a big for monks and pilgrims to worship.

  1. How much did it cost? What was the total amount for the construction of this statue?

  2. When it calls for best rated recliners
,it should be providing with all the best qualities.I found so in this site.
